Five half-marathons, four 5k races, three sprint triathlons, two 10k races, and one full marathon. All in one year, and all in memory of someone who never knew she was strong.

Lucky to Know an Ironman!

Kristina at my wedding this summer.  One of the rare times she was not geared up and hitting the road or the water. :)  Zest for life?  Check! Photo courtesy of Bart Young Photography

So much good luck and so many good vibes are headed to Florida today where my friend Kristina is racing her 4th Ironman.  You are going to rock, Kristina!  One day, I hope to do what you do!!

A huge congrats to ALL the Ironmen out there today!! You are one wild and crazy bunch!

List of goals and missions coming tomorrow. One of them just might be an Ironman. One day.

I have to say, I impressed the hell out of myself at Happy Hour last night.  Especially when my husband ordered fried blue cheese balls.  They sure smelled great, but smells are free!  I had a glass and a half of red wine, and ordered an amazing light appetizer for my dinner.  Crab lettuce wraps.  Crab meat, veggies, a few walnuts and a few rice noodles that you wrap in lettuce, and then top with a spicy mango salsa.  It was so good that I want to start making something like that at home. Plus when all the ingredients are laid out there in front of you, you can see what you're eating.  Mike and I ran our pre-long run 2 miles together. Our schedule calls for 2 miles every Friday night and then the long run over the weekend.  We are doing our long run tomorrow for World Run Day.  I do like running with him, even though he is a talker and I try to remain silent and focused. :)  He makes me faster for sure.  This cough can go away anytime now!  Going on three weeks!!

  2. I love Kristina. I met her this summer when she ran the AMDT marathon in Colorado Springs. She is great person! I hope we can meet someday too!

Congrats on happy hour! You did an awesome job! I have not been so good this weekend. I have totally broke the eating plan. However, I am starting tomorrow full bore and I will not fall off of it again!
