Breakfast: Yogurt, dry fiber ceral, coffee
Lunch: Salad, chicken, fruit, sparkling water
Afternoon Snack: Tootsie Pop and two Tootsie Rolls. In my mouth and chewed up before I even had time to fight back. What the $%#& is up with my monster sugar cravings?
SIGH! If it is sugary and sticks in your teeth, I will want to eat it. Empty calories make me feel empty.
Five half-marathons, four 5k races, three sprint triathlons, two 10k races, and one full marathon. All in one year, and all in memory of someone who never knew she was strong.

I had a tootsie pop today too. :) If I start on chocolate it's the end of me.
ReplyDeleteMy weakness is Starburst jelly beans. But I have taken to putting lemon juice in my water to keep me a touch of sweetness.
ReplyDeletePlus, have you tried sugar free gum? Sometimes that helps me. Plus, I had one nutritionist tell me to try fruit. That didn't work for me but it may work for you.
There is the other side of the coin though. A piece here and there will not kill your diet. Just don't go crazy. Personally, I like this option!
I had a pretty good day, so I am not going to harp on the little bit of candy. My issue is more with my lack of control. When I quit smoking, I would eat literally pounds of Skittles at a time. I feel like sugar is still that one addiction that can attack at any time because I used it to replace another. The human brain is so strange.
ReplyDeleteJulie- For some reason I can (mostly) leave the chocolate be if I have to. But that super sweet sticky stuff is ridiculous for me.
And Christi- You are so right, it is just like your pound cake. You sometimes need to have a little of what you want so that you can go on with your healthy lifestyle. What I am happy about is that I am gaining the ability to just move on and go back to being on track instead of throwing in the towel for the whole day and eating an entire pizza. :) Baby steps.
Yea, I'm no stranger to the sweet sticky stuff either. :) I love, love, love jelly beans (good ones and cheap ones!) and fruit slices. I try to reserve those fruit slices for road trips.
