My new running shoes came last night. I am on my 8th pair of Pearl Izumi SynchroPace IIIs and I got green this time. I've had pink, white, grey, green and blue. So far, my last pair, the blue ones, were the fastest. Or maybe I was the fastest I've ever been, and the shoes were just as trusty as they always were. Either way, green has been good to me, too. Looks like I will be doing my first full marathon in this green pair. How scary is that?
I love that first few times running in new shoes because it feels like I have new knees. The sad thing is that I am still deathly ill, and so I can't even break them in today. Today was a rest day on my marathon training program so the guilt factor is lower, but I should have done 5 miles yesterday and should do ten tomorrow. Banking on those antibiotics kicking in very soon! Just soup and cereal again today, nothing else sounds appetizing. Good thing about being sick is that I don't have to worry about wine calories.
Coming this weekend, pictures of me, as I am right now, showing a little skin. Or flab. Or skin.

Those new runners look fantastic! Once you're feeling better, you'll have new runners to look forward to. It'll be a great built-in incentive to get back into running.
ReplyDeletePS. Leave the guilt at the door. It can stay outside in the cold. *grin* You keep your focus on getting better. ;)
Love the shoes they are very sexy! Hope you will be fast!
